Olivia Rodrigo
Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20, 2002) is an American musician, singer and actress. Her roles as High School Musical: The Musical: The Series' lead role earned her recognition in the latter half of 2010. Rodrigo became famous after joining Interscope Records and Geffen Records in the year 2020. The debut single "Drivers License" set records in several categories and was named one of the top-selling tracks in 2021. The following year, she released songs "Deja Vu" and "Good 4 U", and released her debut solo studio album Sour (2021), which was met with critical and commercial success and received numerous awards, like three Grammy Awards. In 2022, she released Olivia Rodrigo, a Disney+ documentary on her creative process, Olivia Rodrigo. Driving Home 2 U followed. Rodrigo was one of the Billboard Hot 100 #1 single and one Billboard 200 #1 album and five multiPlatinum-certified albums by the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to other awards, she won the American Music Award seven Billboard Music Awards as well four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named her the 2021 Entertainers' of the year. Billboard named it Woman of The Year in 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was born on February 20, 2003, at Rancho Springs Medical Center in Murrieta, California, to the school teacher Jennifer and the family therapist Chris Rodrigo. She was born in Temecula, California. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and a German mother. Her paternal great-grandfather Rodrigo left the Philippines as a teenager to the United States. She also stated her family as Filipino and adheres to Filipino cuisine and traditions. Rodrigo began singing lessons in the kindergarten years. He also took piano lessons quickly. She began singing and acting classes when she was six years old. In elementary school, she started acting in plays. Rodrigo started playing the guitar at age 12. [12] She was raised in a rock band that played alternative music by her parents including Pearl Jam, No Doubt, Green Day, and the White Stripes. Rodrigo discovered songwriting through the country genre and Taylor Swift. [14] She relocated to Los Angeles after landing her part on Bizaardvark.
