Julia Ormond

JuliaOrmond was born in Epsom (Surrey) as the daughter of Josephine who works as a laboratory technician and John Ormond. She is the second of five children for her parents. She was educated in private schools, at first Guildford High School and then Cranleigh School, where early leading performances in Guys and Dolls and My Fair Lady started to attract attention. After one year at arts school, she transferred to Webber-Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art where she graduated in 1988. Ormond was first seen on British television in the 1989 serial Traffik. The series was centered on the illegal heroin trade, from the far East up to Europe. Ormond was the heroin addict daughter of the main character the Home Office minister working to combat heroin importation. The role received a fawning reception right from the beginning.
